All The Angels Are Here
HELL IS EMPTY AND ALL THE DEVILS ARE HERE. Shakespeare wrote that over 600 years ago. And if you listen to the news, you’d believe it’s as true today as it was when he wrote it. But I believe, if Hell is empty, Heaven is also empty, and all the angels are here, too. You just have to look a little harder, travel a little further, and turn off all the sound and fury to find them.
And I think I found them in The Maritimes. Wandering along the Bay of Fundy, and witnessing the largest tidal shifts on the planet, was like having a front row seat to God - or the gods, or Poseidon maybe, or maybe even Aquaman - showing off their mad watery chops. Every 6 hours the tides rise and fall almost fifty feet. So at low tide all the ocean has been sucked away, and all that’s left are lobster boats sinking into a stew of seaweed, rock and rotting fish. Imagine Moses parting the Red Sea every twelve hours and you start to get a sense of how biblical these shifts are. What a wonder to behold.
