Tree of Life

Defender_Baobab_FINAL.jpg

Ever since I was child and read “The Little Prince,” I’ve been mesmerized by baobab trees. For me, they are magical giants - something out of myths and fairytales. So when I had the chance to go to Tanzania and photograph these sacred trees, I jumped at the opportunity. It was a trip filled with great wonder, and one I will never forget as long as I live. Tanzania took my breath away. Even now I am haunted daily by this land. A 1995 Land Rover Defender 110 sits in front of the baobab while five young Maasai warriors look on. Thanks so much to Tyler Northrup for all his friendship and support, and to Peter Jones of Tanganyika Film & Safari Outfitters in Tanzania for all his expertise, experience and friendship. I couldn’t imagine doing this trip without them
